When: 1PM, Saturday, October 1st

Where: Buckley Park (public sidewalks), Corner of 12th Street & Main Avenue, Durango, Colorado

Similar to the War on Lemonade, there seems to be a war on Chalking – or freedom of speech as some still call it. Eight people were arrested in New Hampshire for chalking a police station. They face several charges including graffiti, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and more.

In Manchester, NH they’ve been chalking already, but on October 1st the nation can join in on the fun.

The concept: Chalk the Police

On October 1st, 2011 people around the country are being encouraged to join New Hampshire based activists with this campaign. Hold an event at your local police department or park and bring the chalk. Folks who attend are encouraged to chalk questions for the police.

We’re in need of ideas, videographers for videos, graphics people and doers in general. If you have an idea post it or contact the campaign organizers at copblock@gmail.com

DONT FORGET TO MAKE YOUR LOCAL EVENTS ON FB AND/OR INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO THIS EVENT. (Durango’s event listing can be found here.)

We’re just getting rolling with the details, so stay tuned – copblock.org – for more information. Or visit: copblock.org/CHALKTHEPOLICE
